These are the rules our directory and our writers follow. They exist so you can trust what you read here.
How a business gets listed
A retailer or repair provider qualifies for an organic (non-paid) listing on Graded Appliance Hub if all of the following are true:

| Gas Safe registration (gas repair only) | Gas Safe Register | Current, scope matches work |
We re-verify every listing on a rolling 12-month cycle. Listings that fail re-verification are removed within 30 days.
How we score and rank
Default ranking on city and category pages uses a weighted score:
- 40%
Verification score
Companies House age, presence of physical premises, Gas Safe (if applicable)
- 35%
Customer review score
Average rating × log(review count)
- 15%
Response score
Responsiveness to enquiries forwarded via our platform
- 10%
Recency
Date of last verified listing update
“Featured” listings appear above organic results and are always labelled. Featured placement does not change the underlying score.
How we write guides
- Every guide names a single human author at the top, with a link to their bio.
- Every guide shows a "Last updated" date. Major updates trigger a new date; minor copy edits do not.
- Claims about specific savings, brands, or retailers are linked to their source.
- We do not use AI to write guides without a human author reviewing and signing off every paragraph. Where AI assists with research or first drafts, the byline still names the human responsible.
- Corrections are published openly at /corrections, not silently edited.
How we handle complaints
Email trust@gradedappliancehub.com. We acknowledge within 2 working days and aim to resolve within 10 working days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can escalate to:
